The State of the Science: Turning the Tide in 2026

Welcome to the first full update of 2026! Last week, we closed out the year by unmasking the "replacement trap" of GenX. As we enter this new year, the focus of PCU is Scale.

The global consensus has finally caught up to our mission: filtration is not enough. This year, we are seeing a massive transition toward "Destructive Technologies." Our core research into Lewis acid-mediated defluorination is now being cited as the gold standard for breaking down not just PFOA and PFOS, but also the complex, branched, and shorter-chain molecules that were once thought to be too difficult to treat on-site.

At Project Clean Up (PCU), our goal for 2026 is to move from pilot deployments to permanent installations. We are transitioning our focus from "Can we break it?" to "How fast can we break it for the entire world?"
