The Decentralized Spark: Breaking the Mega-Grid
Welcome back to the Project Clean Up (PCU) weekly newsletter! Over the past two months, we completely redesigned the flow of physical waste through the modern apartment. We proved that point-of-origin processing is the only way to bypass broken municipal infrastructure.
Today, we apply that exact same philosophy to energy.
The traditional power grid is a top-down monolith. When a single central node fails due to a storm or a demand spike, entire cities go dark. In 2026, the transition toward a resilient future requires us to move from a single "Mega-Grid" to a mesh network of "Microgrids." But to power an apartment building or a neighborhood independently using solar or wind, you need a safe, massive place to store that power. You cannot rely on the highly volatile, expensive lithium-ion batteries found in electric cars.
This week, we explore the heavy lifter of the decentralized energy revolution: Sodium-Ion Chemistry.
